 Contagious Disease (Covid-19)

A contagious disease is defined as a communicable disease that can spread rapidly from person to person through direct contact (touching a person who has the infection), indirect contact (touching a contaminated object), or droplet contact (inhaling droplets made when a person who has the infection coughs, sneezes, or talks). A few examples of contagious diseases include COVID-19, flu, strep throat, stomach virus, conjunctivitis, and measles. Handwashing is the number one way to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.

SEL Check In

Good Evening Parents!  We hope you have enjoyed your week.  You should be proud of your scholars.  It is hard to believe that we are already approaching our 6th week of school.  During the past weeks, we have made an intentional effort to check in with your child's social and emotional side.  Teachers are providing SEL lessons daily   before, during after instruction throughout the day.  Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain, positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

We have also been very intentional in providing similar support to our teachers and staff.  We know the importance that emotions play in being healthy individuals.

We would like to begin a new initiative where we are also checking in with our parents periodically.  We understand that this new reality is also affecting our parents as they navigate these new waters.  Just know that we appreciate your support.  It takes a village!  Please use the link below to check in with us.  We want to know how you are doing and what your needs may be.  This form or a similar form will be sent out periodically on Fridays to capture the emotional status of our parents.  We hope you will utilize this time to communicate your needs with the school.

Please enjoy your weekend and get plenty of rest!

FES Wellness Check

Stephanie Graffree, Principal

 S.P.A.R.K

Greetings!

As part of the District's school-based mental health model, S.P.A.R.K., we are excited to introduce our after-school student wellness clubs! The clubs are designed to offer safe and inclusive spaces for students to connect with one another, build awareness of mental health and wellness, and learn skills to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. There are a variety of groups available.

Thank you for your daily work in Clayton County Public Schools to create and promote learning environments that support whole child development.
